OVERVIEW: 7 DAYS MOROCCO TOUR ITINERARY FROM FES TO MARRAKECH

7 Days from Fes to Marrakech, Morocco Tour Itinerary. In these 7 days / 6 nights, you will visit so many fabulous places in a short time. The tour starts in Fes. Firstly, we will visit the Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane, and the cedar forest. A stop in Midelt for lunch, then a drive along the amazing Ziz River. After that, we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you can ride camels and spend the night in a luxury camp in the middle of the desert. And also enjoy the magical sunsets and sunrises in the Sahara. Furthermore, you will visit the Rissani traditional market and Erfoud, the fossil town. Then visit the Todra gorges, the Dades gorges, and the various Kasbahs, including Ait Ben Haddou and Amridil. Finally, cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The tour ends in Marrakech.

ITINERARY : 7 DAYS FES TO MARRAKECH DESERT TOUR

Day 1: Fes airport

This is the first day we meet you. Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport and will pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation to spend the first night at Fes.

Day 2: Fes, Ifrane, Cedars ForestMidelt, Ziz valley and Merzouga 

The 7-day desert tour itinerary starts with an early pick-up from  your accommodation in Fes. Then we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperature, snow and alpine-style houses. -No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Then we continue to the cedar forest, where the Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them while wandering in the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where lunch will be served. Then we head to the Sahara desert, driving through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz river

In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where you switch to camels and cross the sandy desert. A stop will be made for you to enjoy the magical sunset on top of a high dune. Then continue to the desert luxury camp, where you can enjoy the Berber drum music while dancing around the campfire under vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp

Day 3: Explore Merzouga region: Nomads, Khamlia, Merzouga lake, Erg Chebbi and palm grove

Getting up early in the morning is a must in order to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We dedicate the day to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lakes, mines, and fossil areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.

Firstly, we start our journey in Merzouga by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit in their handmade, woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking Berber tea. Our next destination is Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music and dancing performances. Its inhabitants are from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that, we take a stroll in palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake. Dinner and overnight In a hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga Sahara, Rissani, Erfoud, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

After a stroll in Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains, making a high, red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation. And on a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 5: Dades Valley, Roses Valley, Palm Groves of Skoura, and Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products from perfumes, rose water, and oil to cosmetic products,. Free time for lunch. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura and visit the Kasbah of Amridil. Finally, we reach Ouarzazate, visit the studios where famous movies were shot, and also visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the last day, we depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies, including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, etc. and TV series, including Game Of Thrones. Then we continue to Marrakesh by driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch and to take pictures at interesting spots. Finally, we drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech. 

Day 7: Marrakech transfer

Our driver will transport you from your lodging to the airport on the final day of our excursion.
